Disease-Related Malnutrition: The Clinical Reality

Picture 1.png

The risk of malnutrition (under- or over-supply of macro- and/or micro-nutrients leading to suboptimal nutritional status) can affect individuals across all weight ranges, especially those with chronic diseases and hidden risk factors due to imbalanced nutrient intake, absorption and changes in requirements.

Through the use of advanced data-centric tools such as Nutritics, biomarker/medical history integration, and a personalised consultation framework, we identify nutritional gaps and implement evidence-informed interventions primarily through ensuring precise dietary intakes and through the use of dietary supplements where clinically required for added support.

Nutritional intake analysis transforms raw data into quantifiable and actionable individualised nutrition plans that go beyond generic advice.

Consultation Process
The structured 3-stage process ensures personalised care with measurable outcomes:

Initial Dietary Assessment and Advice

Full dietary and lifestyle review based on a pre-consultation dietary survey. Initial guidance provided using the Nutrition Assessment Tool.

Follow up with Precision Nutrition Analysis and Recommendations (~2 weeks after consultation 1)

A detailed Nutritics report is reviewed to refine dietary strategies. Advice is tailored to medical data, lifestyle, and goals.

Dietary Pattern and Food Preparation Planning (~4 weeks after consultation 2)

Progress review with behavioural scoring and final adjustments. Optional risk scoring based on compliance and clinical markers. This approach ensures not just advice, but long-term dietary change grounded in science.

Nutrition Assessment Tool

Before your consultation, you'll complete a structured dietary survey via Libro, Google Form or Word document.

These surveys enable precision in planning and provide a foundation for tailored interventions. They are administered digitally and securely reviewed by the RAS team before your appointment.

What is Nutritional Intake Analysis?

Nutritional Intake Analysis is the systematic assessment of the food and nutrients a person consumes to evaluate whether their diet meets their nutritional needs. It helps identify deficiencies, excesses, or imbalances in nutrient intake and supports healthier dietary choices. It enables the RAS team to:

Accurately assess macro- and micronutrient intake from food diaries or FFQs
